Prioritizing Privacy
When asked about the details of her divorce from Pitt, Jolie was clear in her response: “No.” The divorce proceedings, initiated in 2016, are still ongoing, eight years later.
Staying in Los Angeles for Family
Jolie revealed that her primary reason for remaining in Los Angeles is her divorce from Pitt. “I was raised in this town. I am here because I have to be here from a divorce, but as soon as they are 18, I’ll be able to leave,” she said, referring to their children. “You want your large family to have privacy, peace, and safety.”
Jolie and Pitt share six children: Maddox (23), Pax (20), Zahara (19), Shiloh (18), and twins Knox and Vivienne (16). Jolie noted that Los Angeles has changed significantly since her childhood, and she now feels a sense of disconnect from the city.
Future Plans
Once her youngest children are grown, Jolie plans to travel the world and reconnect with loved ones. “I’ll be in Cambodia for a long time,” she shared. “I’ll travel to see my loved ones, wherever they may be in the world.”
New Film “Maria” Premieres at Venice Film Festival
Jolie’s latest film, “Maria,” premiered at the Venice International Film Festival on Thursday. The premiere was scheduled to avoid any potential encounters with Brad Pitt, who is currently overseas. Venice creative director Alberto Barbera confirmed, “Angelina will be [here] on the first day, on Thursday, and she will leave right after with [‘Maria’ director] Pablo Larraín.” He assured that there would be no chance of them crossing paths at the festival.
Portraying Maria Callas
In “Maria,” Jolie takes on the role of the late opera soprano Maria Callas. To prepare for the role, Jolie underwent months of singing lessons and learned Italian. “Months of just getting the singing down, and then the Italian classes, and then the voice, and doing all these things like her,” Jolie explained in the interview. “You attempt to be exact.”
