Bollywood actress Poonam Pandey is still alive, but she is currently the target of scathing criticism for staging her own death as part of a sophisticated publicity ploy for cervical cancer.
According to a message on Pandey’s Instagram page on February 2, the model passed away from cervical cancer.
However, Pandey disclosed a day later that she was OK and breathing while explaining how she managed the strange antics.
“I’m not dead. Cervical cancer did not cause my death, Pandey claimed. “Sadly, I am unable to make that statement regarding the hundreds of thousands of women who have lost their lives due to cervical cancer.”
“They didn’t know what to do about it, not because they couldn’t do anything about it.”
In keeping with her service announcement, Pandey said that women only needed to get tested and receive the HPV vaccine to prevent cervical cancer, which is “unlike other cancers.”
Pandey apologized to everyone who was offended by her “death” and stated that her sole goal was to “shock everyone” and start a discussion about the fatal illness.
“Yeah, I know it’s extreme, but I staged my death, but now everyone’s talking about cervical cancer, isn’t that right?” stated in a subsequent video.
Many were offended when the false death hoax was revealed, and the model was criticized for the PR stunt.
One person commented, “This is the most ridiculous way to promote something.”
Another said, “Am glad she’s alive, but [please] arrest her for the publicity stunt and drama.”
The next time, you won’t be taken seriously because you completely ruined your credibility.
“The most disgusting and blatant publicity gimmick ever executed. Another reader said, “People have lost loved ones to cancer—I have too, and here you’re making a mockery.” Hire a better agency and get a life, girl. Just stupid.
Pandey, on the other hand, defended the deception, claiming that her family members had the illness and that she wasn’t doing it to hurt anyone.
“I would like to inform those who are accusing me of being insensitive that my mother was a cancer patient.”

“Despite being shocking, this unexpected turn of events serves a greater purpose,” Pandey wrote in an Instagram message. “Although I can see how this would have come out as offensive, I also beg you to
Although Pandey, who gained notoriety in 2011 after competing in India’s annual Gladrags Manhunt and Megamodel Contest, anticipated criticism, she believed that no other strategy could have spread the message as quickly or widely.
Please feel free to vent your annoyance; I get it. However, I’m dedicating my entire body to the fight against cervical cancer; this is not just lip service, Pandey said.
Pandey seemed to be taking a victory lap in later posts, praising the two media companies that assisted her in completing the “campaign,” which required more than four months of planning.
