Less than three weeks before his unfortunate demise, beloved “Curb Your Enthusiasm” actor Richard Lewis expressed resilience in the face of his battle with Parkinson’s disease. In an interview with People on February 9, Lewis revealed that while he faced sporadic walking difficulties, he was “doing quite well” overall.
Despite his positive outlook, Lewis disclosed his decision to skip the “Curb” series finale premiere party on Jan.Th at’s merely begging for problems.” The comedian expressed disappointment at missing the celebration but added, “All things considered, I’m doing quite well.”
Lewis had publicly revealed his Parkinson’s diagnosis in April 2023, mentioning that he had received the diagnosis approximately two years prior. Recounting the discovery of his illness, he shared, “I went to the neurologist because I was shuffle walking, and after they did a brain scan, they told me I had Parkinson’s disease.”
Richard Lewis passed away at the age of seventy-six after experiencing a heart attack at his Los Angeles home. His publicist, Jeff Abraham, released a statement on behalf of Lewis’s wife, Joyce Lapinsky, expressing gratitude for the love and support while requesting privacy during this challenging time.
