The singer responded to a widely shared allegation from January 2023 that stated she discovered her ex-husband Gerard Piqué’s purported adultery through a jam jar.
Shakira now admitted to the Sunday Times that the claim is “not true” more than a year after ShowNews Today revealed that she had been suspicious after returning from a trip and finding fruit spread—which the soccer star and their sons are said to dislike—missing from its container. When asked about the headlines, the 47-year-old Grammy winner even pretended not to understand what the journalist was “talking about,” according to the profile. 
Last year, Shakira chose to ignore the rumors in favor of criticizing 37-year-old Piqué and his girlfriend, Clara Chia Marti, in songs like “TQG” and “BZRP Music Session #53.”For her next album, “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran,” the dancer gushed in an interview on Sunday about how “good” it felt to write about her divorce.
She told the British tabloid, “It helped me exorcise a lot of the demons that were tormenting me,” and that her connection with Piqué had “put [her] career on hold.”
Shakira began dating the professional soccer player in 2010, and in 2013 and 2015, respectively, the two had boys Milan, who is 11 years old, and Sasha, who is 9 years old.Since his parents’ divorce in 2022, the eldest son of the former pair has also composed cathartic music, which Shakira thinks will move listeners “to tears.”
Regarding Milan and Sasha’s response to her own songs about Piqué, Shakira stated, “They understand that life is about accepting the pain and that there is only one way to live.” And there are variations among us all in how we accomplish that. 
Later in the interview, she said, “I felt like there was something there, stuck in my throat.” “It had to come out,”The singer-songwriter, who has been connected to Tom Cruise and Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton after their split, also made a suggestion about when she would start dating.
She explained that while “empathy is key in an artist’s work,” athletes “are in a constant state of war and have to avoid empathy at all costs,” therefore she concluded that it would probably be a pretty poor idea for an artist to hook up with an athlete. 
Shakira said, “I don’t know what I need,” in response to the question of whether she will steer clear of dating athletes in the future.Piqué, on the other hand, seems to be maintaining his relationship with his girlfriend, 25, since he stated in April 2023 that he doesn’t “care about people’s opinions.”
