(usartical) Maren Morris Following her divorce from spouse Ryan Hurd two months ago, Maren Morris, 33, is speaking out about their breakup, citing “irreconcilable differences.”
Morris stated that her split from the 37-year-old musician is still in the works in an interview with Howard Stern on SiriusXM on Wednesday, December 13. It’s still going on, she said.
When Stern inquired if she was ready to start dating again, she replied, “I would like [the divorce] to sort of wrap up.” “I’m not in the right frame of mind for it yet. But because I’m writing so much at the moment, I kind of date through music.

News of Morris’ divorce filing broke in October, with the “Get the Hell Out of Here” singer submitting a complaint to a Tennessee court saying she and Hurd were “unable to live together successfully as husband and wife” after five years of marriage. The couple had signed a prenuptial agreement governing how their assets will be divided in the split, with Morris asking for child support from Hurd for their 3-year-old son.
A few weeks later, Morris posted a picture of herself and Hurd walking their dinosaur-dressed son trick-or-treating on Halloween.
“I believe that this year has been difficult for many people, not just myself,” she continued on the program, adding that she had “cut all the trauma out of my hair” in reference to her recent haircut of a bob. “I know a lot of people who have split up or gotten divorced.”
Morris also discussed being turned down from a number of well-known singing competition shows, such as The Voice, America’s Got Talent, and American Idol. She said, “It hurt, for sure, and it sucked.” “I’m really fortunate that they declined my request because I wasn’t prepared for the spotlight. My voice was still developing, and there was no music. I was going to be a horrible nightmare.
