Quarterback Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs has heaped adulation onto Taylor Swift. In an exclusive interview with CBS Mornings on Friday, Mahomes, 28, discussed his friendship with singer Swift and his relationship with teammate Travis Kelce. Mahomes is a two-time Super Bowl winner.
“She’s the best in her field, and to watch how she drives and develops into that, man, that’s really cool to hear about and see, and now I get to see it firsthand through Brittany and Travis’ eyes,” Patrick remarked during the interview.
According to Patrick, “everyone stayed away” and “just let [Kelce] do what he was doing” when Swift and Kelce initially started dating.
“Then, he started bringing Taylor around, and he realized how cool of a person she was, and she is, and so for us, there were a couple of jokes here and there at the beginning,” said Patrick.
Patrick said, “She’s just part of Chiefs Kingdom now.” “And she’s part of the team.”
The “Anti-Hero” singer saw his first Chiefs game at Arrowhead Stadium on September 24, the day the Chiefs beat the Chicago Bears.
Swift sat next to Brittany, 28, for the subsequent games she attended, and the two grew close as they bonded over their NFL beaus.
“It’s cool that she’s embraced Brittany, and they’ve built a friendship as well,” Patrick stated to CBS. “So for me, its Travis, man, and he’s lucky enough to be with a great girl, and a great woman, and it’s been cool to interact with her,” he said. After spending some time with Swift, Patrick expressed his satisfaction with her personality, saying, “That’s why I think her and Travis match so well.”
Patrick initially mentioned Swift in September, following her attendance at a gathering to commemorate the team’s victory over the Bears on September 24 with Kelce’s family and friends.
At the time, Mahomes said to reporters, “Yeah, I met her.” “She’s really cool, good people.”

Even still, Patrick respected his friend’s desire for secrecy even after their connection was made public. “But like Trav said, man, I’m going to let them have their privacy and just keep it moving,” Mahomes continued.
Swift’s attendance at the Chiefs’ October game against the Los Angeles Chargers had a positive impression on the quarterback’s family.
Swift was seen in a picture shared by Patrick’s mother, Randi Mahomes, alongside the athlete’s 12-year-old sister, Mia Randall.
Randi wrote, “I love how sweet Taylor was to my girl!!” alongside pictures of her youngest child and the “Delicate” singer posing on Instagram. Randi hashtagged the post with “girl power” as well.
The Chiefs and Las Vegas Raiders will play their Christmas Day game at Arrowhead Stadium on Monday beginning at 1 p.m. ET.
