Shakira In her native Barranquilla, Colombia, pop sensation Shakira was honored as authorities unveiled a massive bronze monument of the music diva, who is well-known worldwide for her upbeat songs and thrilling dance movements.
The monument, which stands six meters (20 feet) tall, features the multiple Grammy and Latin Grammy winner wearing a well-known belly dance costume, with her hips swaying to the right and her arms gracefully raised to the sky. According to Mr. Pumarejo, he began considering methods to recognize notable Barranquilla persons approximately a year ago in an effort to boost tourism and act as role models for the next generation. Officials from the city chose a statue of Shakira, who the mayor claimed approved the proposal, and one that depicted Barranquilla’s coat of arms.
In her hometown of Barranquilla, Colombia, Shakira has been turned into a 21.3-foot (6.5-meter) bronze statue. It is said that she started her signature hip-shaking dancing routines at the age of four on a table in a Lebanese restaurant.
According to him, the two monuments collectively cost about $700 million Colombian pesos, or $180,000.

According to Mr. Márquez, Shakira (full name: Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll) and he first met when she was about 15 years old and beginning to become well-known in Colombia as a performer. He remembers that some of his art school classmates would assist her with her stage design.
