According to the article, Joe Kosinski, the director of Maverick, is also being considered to take a return role behind the camera. Additionally, sources told the site that Kruger is already scripting.

Although Cruise hasn’t stated out loud that he plans to keep up the franchise, Miles Teller, who portrays Lt. Bradley “Rooster” August 2022: Glen Powell, who portrayed Lt. Jake ‘Hangman’ Seresin, told PEOPLE similar things.
